Our rich history

Founded and headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, we’ve been revolutionizing supply chain management through continuous innovation for more than three decades. Our rich history has led to numerous patents, deep supply chain domain expertise, and a one-of-a-kind database and platform built from the ground up with planning and execution in mind.

• June 1984: Company founded as Cadence Computer Corporation
• September 1986: Launched an in-memory planning engine, cutting run times for Material Requirements Planning (MRP) from days to minutes
• June 1996: Released the world’s first advanced supply chain planning platform with unprecedented scenario-building capabilities
• May 2005: Renamed company Kinaxis (representing kinetic energy around an axis)
• November 2005: Released first cloud-based platform, giving companies flexible deployment options with lower capital spending
• June 2014: Kinaxis IPO on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol KXS
• January 2015: Named a Leader in Gartner Magic Quadrant for the first time
• May 2018: Launched first AI/ML applications, taking them beyond standard use cases to solve real-world problems for both supply and demand planning
• October 2020: Expanded our supply chain management platform by opening it up to third-party developers
• December 2020: Achieved carbon neutrality
• November 2021: Named one of Canada's top employers for young people, one of the National Capital Region's Top Employers, and one of Canada's Top 100 Employers
• August 2022: Enabled true end-to-end supply chain orchestration by joining supply chain planning and execution
